Auf Flug FZ1073 von Dubai nach Tel Aviv stach der omanische Co-Pilot plötzlich mit einem Messer auf den indischen Flugkapitän Smit Machchhar ein. Die Boeing geriet in einen Sturzflug, verlor laut den Flugdaten in zwei Minuten 5.180 Meter an Höhe und sendete den Notcode 7700 und den Entführungscode 7500. Zwei Wunder retteten die Passagiere.
