Both nations attempted to eliminate markets entirely, even getting rid of currencies and banks at one time. Mass death resulted. Over 30 million people starved to death in the USSR in the 1930’s and roughly the same starved in China in the 1960’s. Neither nation could feed its people om spite of the fact that they enjoyed some of the richest farm land in the world.”
