Nur Zentralbanken machen ‚totale‘ Kriege möglich

„Vor der Schaffung der Federal Reserve wäre der Gedanke eines amerikanischen Eintritts in den Konflikt, der zum Ersten Weltkrieg wurde, undenkbar gewesen. Tatsächlich war es eine höchst unpopuläre Idee, und Woodrow Wilson selbst warb mit dem Versprechen, uns aus dem Krieg herauszuhalten. Aber mit einem Geldmonopol scheinen alle Dinge möglich zu sein. Nur vier Jahre, nachdem die Fed unter dem Deckmantel der wissenschaftlichen Politikplanung erfunden worden war, wurde die wahre Agenda offensichtlich. Die Fed sollte den Eintritt der USA in den Ersten Weltkrieg finanzieren.

Es war nicht nur der Eintritt allein, der ermöglicht wurde. Der Erste Weltkrieg war der erste totale Krieg. An ihm war fast die gesamte zivilisierte Welt beteiligt, und zwar nicht nur ihre Regierungen, sondern auch die Zivilbevölkerung, sowohl als Kombattanten als auch als Ziele. Er wurde als der Krieg bezeichnet, der die Zivilisation in dem Sinne beendete, wie wir diesen Begriff im 19. Das heißt, es war der Krieg, der die Freiheit, wie wir sie kannten, beendete. Ermöglicht wurde dies durch die Federal Reserve. Und nicht nur die amerikanische Zentralbank, sondern auch ihre europäischen Pendants.
